Aluminerie Alouette Welcomes an Important Delegation of International Experts

SEPT-ÎLES, September 22, 2017 – All week long in Sept-Îles, The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS), in collaboration with Aluminerie Alouette, held advanced courses in anodes, a key part in a smelter’s process. Some 40 people from as far away as Indonesia and Australia came to the region for the event.

“We are privileged that a major organization like TMS chose Sept-Îles for this important event, which Aluminerie Alouette employees were able to attend,” says Jules Côté, Vice President, Business Improvement and Asset Management, who worked closely with TMS to organize the event. “The training and tour of our facilities provided opportunities for much discussion and learning. The participants were impressed by the quality of our anode manufacturing operations, and everyone remarked on the Côte-Nord’s hospitality,” he proudly adds. Mr. Côté also emphasized the contribution and professionalism of the employees involved in the activities.

The event, which coincided with the Aluminerie Alouette’s 25th anniversary, was a remarkable opportunity for both the company and the region to achieve an international reach.
