A new President at Aluminerie Alouette

Sept-Îles, April 11, 2018 - After almost 4 years as President and Chief Executive Officer of Aluminerie Alouette Inc., and more than 30 years in the aluminium industry, Mr. Claude Boulanger has decided to retire next September 1st. Mr. Boulanger is a firm believer of the health and safety importance and he is convinced that every injury can be avoided. He will have worked in this direction throughout his career. Through his fervor and innovative approach in this matter, he will have enabled the deployment of new tools in prevention and better guidance of subcontractors and visitors, thus allowing a significant reduction of injuries. In addition, thanks to his leadership, the company will have progressed in terms of competitiveness, a must in a difficult global market. Aluminerie Alouette and its owners wish to acknowledge Mr. Boulanger's considerable contribution and thank him for his positive impact on the organization's results.

It is with great enthusiasm that Mr. Knut Meel, President of the Owners’ Committee, announces today the appointment of Mr. Patrice L’Huillier as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of Aluminerie Alouette. His appointment will be effective April 30, 2018 and a transition period is planned with Mr. Boulanger.

 

With a vast international experience of more than 20 years in the aluminum (Pechiney, Rusal) and mine industries (Eramet, ENRC), Mr. L'Huillier is currently Technical Director/ Director of Mining Operations of the ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih plant in Ukraine. His deep industry knowledge will be a major asset for Aluminerie Alouette, which must remain at the forefront of innovation and improvement. Visionary and dynamic, Mr. L'Huillier is recognized for his leadership style. He will lead Alouette in its development and allow it to take advantage of all the situations and opportunities in that direction.
