Aluminerie Alouette to support École d'entrepreneurship de Beauce with over $100,000 annually in 2013-2015 under a new partenership

Sept-Îles, February 13, 2013 — Aluminerie Alouette President and CEO André Martel is proud to announce the signing of a three-year partnership agreement with École d’Entrepreneurship de Beauce (EEB). Under the agreement, Aluminerie Alouette will provide $50,000 in support each year as a Silver partner and endow two $27,500 academic scholarships for entrepreneur athletes (students) at the prestigious business school. The initiative is part of the aluminum producer’s job creation program aimed at promoting the development of Quebec entrepreneurs and their businesses.

“For us at Aluminerie Alouette, our partnership with EEB is a training investment that furthers our commitment to business development and entrepreneurial succession,” says an excited Martel.

The two $27,500 annual scholarships will be awarded to candidates admitted to École d’Entrepreneurship de Beauce’s Elite Program, which focuses on action and exchange. During their time at the school, entrepreneur athletes will have a priceless opportunity to meet and build relationships with top tier business leaders. The program comprises 15 modules, each averaging five days in length. It takes a little over two years to complete, for a total of nearly 100 days of intensive training. In addition to supporting these entrepreneur scholarship recipients, the partnership will also give other business leaders a chance to attend intensive professional development sessions.

“We at École d’Entrepreneurship de Beauce are obviously thrilled that Aluminerie Alouette will be supporting two of our future students each year over the next three years. We know that the six candidates chosen will make a real contribution to Quebec’s economic development,” adds EEB managing director Nathaly Riverin.

Selection criteria

Business leaders interested in the Alouette scholarships must complete the school’s admission process at www.eebeauce.com. Once they have been admitted, they will have to fill out a questionnaire explaining how their participation in the program will help their business grow, and thereby support Quebec’s economic development.

A selection committee will review all applications received and choose the recipients of the $27,500 scholarships. Two scholarships will be awarded in each cohort beginning this April.
