Alouette awards second bursary to student at Beauce entrepreneurship school

SEPT-ÎLES, April 7, 2014 — École d’Entrepreneurship de Beauce (EEB) launched the eighth edition of its Elite Program on Wednesday, April 2. The event was an opportunity for Aluminerie Alouette to award its second bursary, worth $27,500, to an “entrepreneur-athlete.” Stéphan Roy, president of a company called Système Huntingdon, received his prize from Richard Lapierre, manager, strategic development, at Alouette.

Enrolled in the sixth edition of the Elite Program, Stéphan Roy was proud to receive his bursary. The president and sole shareholder of Système Huntingdon hopes to acquire new knowledge and boost his managerial and business development skills in order to take his company to another level. Based in Quebec’s Montérégie area, he wants to implement his strategic plan and develop his full potential as an entrepreneur. “The Alouette bursary supports my ambition to rise to the numerous challenges around the corner,” he said. Located in Huntingdon, his company has been involved since 1975 in the fields of design, architectural concepts and the production of immersive visual environments adapted to its customers’ corporate image. Système Huntingdon has been singled out for a number of honours and, like Alouette, is a leader in its field. Among other priorities, it promotes the use of its sustainable, personalized products created using an innovative technology that directly integrates aluminum design.

In February 2013, as part of its job-creation program, Alouette announced a partnership with EEB worth over $300,000, covering the period 2013-2015. According to Richard Lapierre, “Our bursary program gives tangible shape to our commitment to Quebec entrepreneurship and reinforces our interest in developing global leaders in a wide variety of fields.”

The Elite Program in which Stéphan Roy is enrolled comprises 15 modules lasting an average of five days each, with a focus on action and dialogue. The program is spread out over slightly more than two years, for a total of close to 100 days of intensive training. In the fall of 2013 Alouette awarded its first bursary to Mélanie Paul, assistant executive director of Groupe ADL.
